QNix® 8500 is our recommendation for Industrial painting, Surface finishing and Heavy-duty corrosion protection
A coating thickness gauge for every area of application
The QNix® 8500 is our modular coating thickness gauge with measured value memory, statistics functionalities, software evaluation and interchangeable probes. It is suitable for almost every area of application in coating thickness measurement and is very robust. If you use the QNix® 8500, you also benefit from easy operation and of course from precise and quick measurement results.
Your requirements
Do you need a flexible coating thickness gauge which you can use to perform various coating thickness measurements and which you can subsequently adapt to various tasks? Do you want to document the measured coating thickness so it is transparent in the long term as part of internal quality assurance or owing to customer specifications?
Then the QNix® 8500 is the right device for you. It lets you take measurements on steel, iron (Fe) and non-ferrous metals (NFe) like aluminium, zinc, copper and brass. The QNix® 8500 also helps you with special measurement requirements and gives you quick and precise measurement results. Plus it’s easy to use.
Our modular concept
The QNix® digital interface concept future-proofs your coating thickness gauge. Upgrade your QNix® 8500 with:
- Probes with a larger measurement range
- Probes for other substrate types
- Wireless probes for measurements at locations that are difficult for people to access
- Probes for measuring thin layers
Ease-to-use
In many areas of application, a simple zero-point calibration on the base substrate suffices. The QNix® 8500 also offers the possibility of single-point and two-point calibration so you can adjust it to varying substrate properties. You can then take measurements on curved surfaces and small parts and, in rare cases, even on types of stainless steel or other steel alloys.
Taking measurements on rough substrate surfaces is no problem either. You can freely select a number of zero-reference measured values that lets you calculate and store an average zero reference. With QNix®, users can compensate for roughness using single-point or two-point calibration.
The combined measurement mode uses two measurement methods in one measurement procedure. This allows users to calculate zinc layers thicker than 50 µm and the cover paint, and then display and store them for later documentation in one measurement procedure.
To meet standards, norms and other specifications, averaging can be set using a number of measured values you can configure as you please. Three individual measured values yield one measured value, for instance. If measured values are stored, each mean value that was calculated from three individual measurements will be stored – and only that value.
The QNix® 8500 is our most flexible coating measurement gauge. It provides optimum assistance for many applications and is easy as ever to use.
All QNix® coating thickness gauges are developed according to our easy-to-use principle: simply position, measure and read.
